We are a research action project that aims to bring about social and policy change through intervention and research. First, we offer psychosocial support to the most vulnerable refugee claimants who are housed in temporary shelters (hotels). Using a participatory framework, we generate data with refugee claimant children and families to better understand their experiences and create recommendations for policy makers to mitigate adversity.

Responsibilities and deliverables

  • Help co-facilitate workshops for refugee claimants (children or parents)
  • Help collect data (e.g. conduct interviews)
  • Help maintain and generate content for our social media platforms
  • Attend SHIFT’s internship events and workshops as part of your internship hours
