Camera and Lighting Trainee (Unpaid)

As a Camera and Lighting Trainee, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the director, cinematographer, and producer on a variety of commercial and corporate productions. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience in both small documentary-style shoots and larger commercial productions.
Note: This is an unpaid internship. Possibility of school credit, please check with your academic program coordinator.
Responsibilities:
On Smaller Shoots (Crew of 4-5):
  • Learn to set up cameras, such as the Blackmagic Pocket 6K, and change lenses & media.
  • Gain expertise in camera settings, including aperture, ISO, white balance, and recording formats.
  • Acquire knowledge of lighting techniques using LED lights and other professional lighting equipment.
  • Focus on safety protocols on set.
  • Work with fundamental film equipment, such as C-stands, apple boxes, and cable coiling.
On Larger Shoots (Commercials with 20+ People):
  • Take on a Production Assistant role.
  • Assisting unloading, setting up and wrapping equipment.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including camera, lighting, gripping, art department, wardrobe, and unit production.
  • Provide general support to ensure the smooth running of the production.
