The Student Success Centre (SSC) is a welcoming support network of resources and opportunities to engage and empower students to realize their individual, academic and long-term goals – bridging academic experience with personal and professional development.

The Role

FutureBound is looking for a graduate student for its Program Liaison role.

The Program Liaison is a student-facing role responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations, communications and promotion, both on-site and online, for the FutureBound program.

FutureBound is Concordia University’s skill development program for undergraduate students. Our low-stakes, high-impact virtual and in-person workshops help students develop the competencies they need to successfully navigate the transition from university to professional life and thrive as leaders of tomorrow.

Key responsibilities:

  • Daily operations: Support the program’s hybrid daily operations and events, requiring frequent communication with students, facilitators and student staff and regular monitoring of workshop feedback and registration data.
  • Workshop hosting & event planning: Assist with all workshop hosting responsibilities and event planning responsibilities
  • Communications: Develop and support content creation for FutureBound’s social media accounts (LinkedIn & Instagram), website and print/promotional materials, newsletter, and internal communications (e.g. Departments/faculties, student associations).
  • Outreach & partnership development: Support FutureBound’s outreach strategy. Participate and lead outreach initiatives (e.g. Classroom announcements, presentations, orientation events, tabling, email campaigns). Help expand FutureBound’s network of students, partners, and facilitators.
  • Team support: Assist with hiring, training, assigning work, monitoring and supporting FutureBound Program Assistants as a liaison between student employees and the Program Lead.
  • Program development & assessment: Support the ongoing program development and coordination, and contribute to its assessment process
  • Support the Student Success Centre initiatives as needed

Education & Experience:

  • Graduate student in a degree program pertinent to the primary responsibilities (Communications, Journalism, Education, Social Sciences, Business)
  • Experience in communications, writing, social media, marketing and event planning
  • Interest in educational program implementation, assessment and data analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, both written and spoken. Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to prepare and give presentations and pitches to various audiences.
  • Ability to lead and moderate in-person and online workshops and events.
  • Intermediate Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (to create and update documents, reports and presentations) and ease at learning new software.
  • Strong project management, planning, organizing, decision-making, problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills. Student-focused, adaptable and approachable.

Position details:

  • Schedule: This is a part-time position, ~15 hrs per week
  • Start Date: Fall 2024; exact date to be determined based on scheduling and availability
  • Hourly rate: $22/hour
