PUBLIC RELATIONS ASSISTANT
Want to join a growing startup entertainment, sports, lifestyle PR agency?
KHPR is looking for a part-time Public Relations Assistant. If you have PR agency experience, a
passion for entertainment culture and are a master communicator, this position could be for you!

creative branding and strategic partnerships for entertainers, artists, professional athletes,
corporate executives, lifestyle and CPG brands.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to)
● Draft communication materials (e.g. pitches that effectively communicate client message,
press releases, media advisories, case studies,social media content, etc.)
● Proactively identify angles and pitch client/product to target media outlets and
publications
● Secure and negotiate earned press placements including interviews, news items, video
segments, etc.
● Perform industry research, update media lists
● Perform media scans and update coverage reports
● Stay on top of PR, social and digital media market trends so that you can contribute to
ongoing dialogues and continuous improvement.
● Establish and build relationships on behalf of KHPR and their clients
● Stay on top of industry trends, the latest PR/social media advancements and relevant
campaigns
● Contribute to social media content development
● Acute understanding of and passion for social media management and content creation

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• 1-2 years working in public relations or a similar agency/brand role is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications or Public Relations (3rd year students welcomed)
• Exceptional writing and verbal communications skills
• Creativity and enthusiasm
• Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive information
• Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and competing priorities
• Media-savvy with interests ranging from pop-culture, entertainment, music, sports, fashion

• Strong computer skills including: Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, Canva, Planoly, Wix
(an asset)
• Available to work evenings and weekends when necessary
• Have a strong attention to detail and ability to maintain brand consistency across all touchpoints
• Bilingual English/French is an asset
